NICHOLAS W. LORD
MEMORIAL TRUST

As many of you know, a tragic accident took the life of our young CAD Technician, Nick Lord, on Sunday, May 3, 2009. Not only a family friend, Nick was also Rob Kaidy's first employee when Rob established the predecessor to Ocean5 Naval Architects more than three years ago. Nick was with Ocean5 from day one. We have all come to know Nick not only as an employee but as an important part of our "family". He was responsible, loyal and a pleasure to be around. We miss him.

To recognize not only his contributions to Ocean5 but, more importantly, his love and admiration for his sisters, Janna and Gabby, Ocean5 has established The Nicholas W. Lord Memorial Trust for the benefit of Janna and Gabby's educational needs following their graduations from high school.

Janna is presently a member of the sophomore class at Jensen Beach High School where she is a member of the award winning choral group, Jubilate. Janna recently participated with Jubilate in competition in New York City where the group took top honors, and Janna received recognition for her outstanding solo work. Janna includes Julliard in her goal to continue her education toward a career in music.

Gabby is an eighth grader and an accomplished pianist. She has been involved with the many youth activities in their church. Gabby is looking forward to entering Jensen Beach High School in the coming school year.

It is here at JBHS that Nick was noted not only for his drafting skills where he was the Florida Skills USA state winner in Technical Drafting (CAD) and ranked 26th in the national competition, but for his love of football. He was Captain of his team while at JBHS and continued to be involved after graduation as an assistant coach at the high school while attending college at Indian River State College. His life was full of promise.

We will always remember Nick, and we, his Ocean5 "family", thank his parents, Tom and Susan, for sharing this wonderful young man with so many of us.
